Guitar construction resources.
« on: January 19, 2014, 06:56:59 PM »
Hello,

I was wondering if anyone out there had any recommendations for books/web sites to help me understand the basics of acoustic guitar construction.  I am not really looking to build my own guitar, but am more looking to understand what goes in to the construction and how altering certain components alters the instruments sound.

Any resources you would recommend?

it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...

I guess the book you really would love to read is Eltjo Haselhoff's Gitarologie. It was published in Dutch november last. If I am well informed he is working on the translation into English. An incredibly well written (with a light pen) and informative piece of work. Hope you'll find it soon: http://www.pegheadstore.com/nl/boek-gitarologie-4902988.html. Those of you who know Eltjo, know of his craftmanship, his humor and his fine finger style videos.
