512ce-L10 Question

Hey all, this is my first post in the new forum, glad to see this site up and running.  I have (dumb) question - I own (4) Taylors, and I recently purchased a 2005 512ce-L10 fall limited edition (all hog).  It is a great guitar - but I don't know what the "L10" stands for - can anyone help me out? 

Fun fact - I found out from Taylor that only 88 of these were made!

I don't have the answer to your question, but I have one of the '05 514ce-L10's, and I love that guitar!  Simply wonderful. 

I'm sure that run of 88 is just of the 512's, and doesn't include the 514's...?

I'm certainly not certain but I think I read that "L" meant 'limited' and the number is the variation or iteration of that limited.
But I don't think they necessarily went L1, L2, L3...., I think some numbers were skipped. 
There was a discussion of this at AGF, but I have no idea what the search terms would be.

WELCOME !congrats on the 512ce-L10
these were very similar in aesthetics to the 96 512-m, but with a
dark mahogany stain, deeper body, Standard II bracing & NT neck ... very cool 

i don't recall a specific reason for the L10 designation, as there were
L1 thru L6s in 03, L7s in 04, short scale 510/710 L9s, L30s (also in 04) -
it could just be a internal 'project #', similar to the 'CV' designation

wish i could be of more help, but that's all i know
imho, the spring 700LTD madagascar models were exceptionally nice as well

Thanks all for the comments.  And yes, the 88 was just for the number of 512's.  It is a great guitar, can't below how loud it is and it is a great strummer even though it is supposed to be for fingerstyle.  Not sure how to post a pic, haven't done it before - thanks again for the replies!

i have a friend who has a 514cL10 & i put in a LR Baggs iMix in it, which he was using to play at
assemblies while he was at school (for a few thousand people at a time) ... he really likes the L10

if you have a pic already on your computer, it can be attached most easily in a post -
it may be easier to copy the pic into a new file on your desktop, as it will most likely
be easier to find, or if it is still on a memory card or in your digital camera hooked to
a USB cable, as those locations should 'pop up' without having to search for them

click 'attachment & other options' on the left below the text box & click on 'choose file' -
a window will pop up, find the location of your pic, double-click on the pic & wait for it to upload & once it's
done (you can upload up to 4, with 192K total), click 'preview' to see if everything looks good, then 'post'

one can also post bigger pics & a greater # of pics per post by using a photo
hosting site suchas imagur, flickr, webshots, snapfish, photobucket etc ...
