Title: How Many NGD's Did We Have in 2016?

We did this same thread for 2013, 2014, and 2015 NGD's (new guitar day):
2013 - 118 reported NGD's
2014 - 169 reported NGD's
2015 - 112 reported NGD's

This is for 2016 NGD's, which includes Taylors AND non-Taylors. It can be new or new-to-you (used). Be sure to number your guitars if you post.  LET'S KEEP NUMBERING THESE IN OUR POSTS TO KEEP THE COUNT GOING.

ALSO, LETS KEEP THIS THREAD JUST AS A COUNT.....PLEASE PUT ALL OTHER DISCUSSION ABOUT THESE NEW GUITARS IN SEPARATE THREADS. OTHERWISE THIS GETS TOO COMPLICATED AND CONFUSING. THANKS.

I wanted a smaller-body, smaller-scale
guitar, but I am on a real tight budget,

Needed an all laminate guitar for the driest office in the  world! Can't keep a solid top there, even with a soundhole humidifier.
This little Yamaha actually sounds pretty good, plays and intonates right.

Wow! I really love that.  The appointments remind of the former acoustic series, which I thought was so classy.  Had a GS8 that looked like the big brother to that, and I really loved its appearance, too.  Your 12 fret and the slotted head stock makes it even better.  Enjoy! And enjoy some more! :)

#43 the T5z arrived today. Got it unpacked and played for a few minutes and like what I heard. Will give it a real workout later today. Now I've got to find a proper place for it - guess the GS Mini will have to give up it's slot for the time being. It almost is a twin to my 712c 12 fret.

Ready to get it back from the shop having the neck reset and truss rod adjustment.  I don't know how the guy who owned it before me was even playing it because it was that bad.

I was "converted" to Taylor by a 414e (2015). I wanted a 714e, but resisted because of the price. The 314ce-RW didn't suit my style. Had been looking for a used 300 or 400 LTD in Sitka/EIR. Then Taylor must have heard my prayers and reintroduced RW back into the 400 Series. Thank you Taylor!

#57: Yamaha FG-180 50th Anniversary LTD

A '72 Yamaha FG-180 was my first "new" guitar, so it was the one I kinda grew up with (aside from the '61 000-18 my grandfather had gifted to me). When I "graduated" to countless higher end guitars, it got left at my parents' home where it sat in storage and was subjected to extreme temperatures and RH changes. My father played it from time to time when he didn't want to take his D-45 out of the house. My father passed in '13, and when I "reclaimed" it, it had a severe belly bulge and was in need of a neck reset. My father must have played it more than he let on because the fretboard was pretty well worn, too. Anyway, when Yamaha released an all-solid Anniversary version of the FG-180, I couldn't help myself. It was a purely emotional purchase, so you can imagine, it was a very emotional NGD.

#59. 410E Ovangkol. Superb sound. I also have a 1998 W10 to compare to and the 410 has a similar sound but more "up front" until it opens up a bit. Love it!! Pictures of both attached. Happy days!!

#66 Martin Dreadnaught Junior.  Went to the local GC and compared a couple of GS Mini guitars to this one.  After a half hour, decided the Martin works best for my playing style.  Plus the wider neck worked better for me.  No, it's not going to replace any of my main guitars.  Sure is fun for what it is, though.

Okay, I'll admit it--I never quite understood this thread. But let me give it a try. NGD = New Guitar Day, right? So the thread is asking how many of us had a New Guitar Day this year, and then to list the guitars bought? If that's true, here are mine:

I had a rosewood version that I sold when I got my used Baby Collings, but the Collings is really too expensive to be my travel guitar, so when Allen Music in Paducah, KY, posted this on their Facebook page the weekend I happened to be in town, I fell for it.

I picked up a new 322Ce a couple of months back.  It's the 14 fret model.  Mahogany top/Blackwood back&sides, it's still a short scale guitar.  I sat in a lesson room in the store with both the 322 12 & 14 fret models, and after an hour of going back and forth took home the 14 fret model.  It just felt better to me.  I have a Martin D15M and the tone/voicing between the two is very close.  I really like the Grand Concert size body and its volume is hitting way above its weight class - a very nice guitar.

#118 - Just got a Godin ACS SA nylon string with synth access (Roland 13 pin) and Roland GR-55.  Guitar Center had its annual Gutarathon" and one of the instruments on sale was the Godin.  The manager offered me a very good discount off of both pieces if I bought them during the Guitarathon.  This was unadvertised, and just a verbal thing that happened at that moment.  Both pieces were brand new.  The Godin is very well made and quite versatile.  The GR-55 is ... a fun toy for me, though certainly pro piece of gear.

I don't know why, but Guitar Center has been offering some unusually great deals lately (at least the one closest to me).  Over the past few months, I have gotten a used 2012 fall limited Taylor GAce-N-fltd in mint condition, a new Taylor 914ce, and now the Godin/Roland pair.  All were at very, very good prices.

I have been without a 12 string for a couple of years now, but did not really want to put a lot of money in one since I don't play one that often. That being said, I found a good deal on Reverb for a 2015 Taylor 150e and it shipped today and should arrive on the 29th. The 150e is a plain Jane, no frills 12 string for sure, but after watching several demos of the guitar on You Tube I figured I couldn't go wrong. I guess that will be my NGD for this year, just sneaking in under the wire. Can't wait! :-)

Picked up a very nice 514e (no c) FLTD born in 2013.  If you know me you know I am a mahogany fan.  This one has European Spruce top, and a very special mahogany back and sides, it looks like a flamed mahogany neck  Nice fret markers, and boxwood rosette.  Plus my favorite tuners, Gotoh 510s. 

Since I don't play up to the 14th fret I don't need a cutaway, and I like the look of the old style very much. 

So, Now it is obvious I am done buying guitars for good.  I will never need to get another for the rest of my days.  After all, how could I ever want anything more than what I have now, I am blessed. 

I have seen and heard some of the 562 12 string 12th frets and find them to be intriguing. what with the smaller body and awesome tone, but the last thing I need is to buy another 12 string, geez that would be unnecessary.  Although I do love the mahogany tone, I really don't need or want another guitar.  Really.  I mean it.

You are right M.  Adirondack top, Adi CV bracing. Mahog back and sides.  The new one does not have the horse power that the Adi has but my new one is oh so sweet, a completely different tone.

Picked up a very nice 514e (no c) FLTD born in 2013.  If you know me you know I am a mahogany fan.  This one has European Spruce top, and a very special mahogany back and sides, it looks like a flamed mahogany neck  Nice fret markers, and boxwood rosette.  Plus my favorite tuners, Gotoh 510s. 

Since I don't play up to the 14th fret I don't need a cutaway, and I like the look of the old style very much. 

So, Now it is obvious I am done buying guitars for good.  I will never need to get another for the rest of my days.  After all, how could I ever want anything more than what I have now, I am blessed. 

I have seen and heard some of the 562 12 string 12th frets and find them to be intriguing. what with the smaller body and awesome tone, but the last thing I need is to buy another 12 string, geez that would be unnecessary.  Although I do love the mahogany tone, I really don't need or want another guitar.  Really.  I mean it.

Cordoba Maple/Euro Spruce Fusion 12. Couldn't put it down at GC today, so it came home with me. Wanted to have a nylon again, and now I do.

So, I got one of the first (#4) and one of the last this year!

I did add the Gotoh 510 antique gold 21:1.  For me it was the right move.  I purchased it in June 2016.  What a great guitar.  Great size.  Great sound.  It entices me to play more often.

Two dings already.  Oh, well.  I live with guitars, I live with people, I live with dogs.  The math works.
