ES-Go Plug-in buzz

Hey everyone! I'm sure this has a thread somewhere...but I can't locate it. Feel free to post links below. I had the ES-Go plug in pick up put in my GS Mini. I'm totally bummed because I can hear a loud buzz through my fishman amp. I realize it's because of my home electrical since it was built in the 80's), I also tried plugging my amp in through one of those gray grounding plugs. Didn't work. I read about this on the Taylor website, and I'm just extremely disappointed. I have used this amp with an acoustic electric Seagull with no problem. I took it back because the guitar felt wrong for me, and got the mini. Why didn't I get one with a built in system? Because they didn't have any in stock, I was going out of town and wanted my guitar, and because I'm an IDIOT. Lol.

So the grounding string thing Taylor sells doesn't sound like a good fix to me. The guitar store I go to has offered to replace it with a different pickup. I only play for fun, so I don't need anything super fancy, but I would like to have something that doesn't buzz like an old neon sign.
They have two others they recommended: 1. Fishman matrix infinity (but it's $140 more cash I'll have to shell out), or the Neo D humbucker (sp?) pick up.

Any ideas or suggestions? If you know of a pickup for my mini that works with older crappy homes, let me know.

Do you have florescent lights or other appliances plugged into the circuit? Is the outlet properly grounded?

Amy, this may sound dumb, but have you tried adjusting how far below the strings the ES-go is? I had one a while back and I know it affected the amount of 'noise' I had, although it wasn't bad at all either way.

The ES go has a bad reputation for 60hz buzz as it isn't a humbucker. I've used the neo d and it worked pretty well with no buzz...sounds a little electric though
