Very cool! Congratulations, "zeebow!" Everyone should have a guitar with a 'Sinker' Redwood top in their Taylor collection! It seems to be one of their signature soundboard woods, and is in limited supply (although I'm sure other manufacturers use 'Sinker' Redwood as well).
Unfortunately, I'd have to disagree. I owned a Sinker Redwood R Taylor briefly earlier on this year. To me the Cedar comparisons that people generally make with Redwood did not apply to my particular guitar - it sounded more like a standard Sitka Spruce top. I am not generally a fan of Sitka Spruce, for what it's worth.
Hmm. Interesting. I tend to fall on the other tend of the spectrum (like Sitka, not a huge fan of Cedar), so maybe that's why I find 'Sinker' more appealing...? Plus the aesthetics of 'Sinker' tend to be unique among the top woods.
