« Last post by DennisG on May 08, 2024, 05:39:18 PM »I have medium-gauge strings on my 114. If left in normal tuning (E to E) you can notice the thicker strings and increased string tension. But I keep the guitar tuned to open D or sometimes D to D, both of which nicely offset the added string tension, and I haven't needed to touch the truss rod. If you tune D to D, you can always put your capo at the second fret to get the equivalent of E to E tuning.

And the outdoor RH will change hourly with temperature. Indoors, whether heating or cooling, you can have a very different number -- probably lower in most cases. Having a hygrometer (not a hydrometer, which measures something else entirely) would give you peace of mind.
