Dave,

Very nice.  Congrats.  I have had a Taylor just like yours on my wishlist for a while.  For now, it can only be on paper.  But one of these days ...

Please give a thorough review once you've gotten well acquainted.

I will do that.  Right now I'm still in the "it's awesome" honeymoon stage. :)   Not sure if/when that will go away.  I've missed having a Coco guitar for quite a while.  Its good to have one back in the rotation.  They have a very cool sound.

Is that the Cindy inlay on the fret board that's usually only on the 900 series or the presentations? It's astonishingly beautiful!

No its one of their LTD inlays from a couple years ago.  My wife has the same inlay on a BTO she had built.

the Cindy inlay on the guitar on the right is a 914ce that's on Black Beauty's desktop
wall paper & the guitar on the left is Dave's 814ceLTD - they are 2 different guitars

Well its been a few months and I've had a great opportunity to play the 814LTD.  I will say I'm as smitten with it after a couple months as I was the first time I picked it up.

About three weeks ago I had gotoh tuners and a bone saddle put on.  I love the new tuners.  They are a huge upgrade (I have them on my GS also and had forgotten how nice they were after playing my 714 a lot).  The bone mellowed the tone a bit but I also thing the guitar has broken in a bit.

While I'm extremely happy with the guitar my other guitars are planning an uprising as they rarely get played.  I will hopefully rectify that situation in the coming months but for the moment I'll just bask in the new guitar smell!

I should have bought another coco years ago!

There's nothing WORSE for a case of GAS than having Guitar Rodeo in your town!

Wait, I meant there's nothing BETTER for a case of GAS than having Guitar Rodeo in your town!  ;D

Didn't see this thread earlier. That's one sweet slice of Coco there Dave. Glad it sounds as good as it looks.

WOHOAA! Nice! looks like my babys sister right there :) i attained one of these beautys about 2 months ago and everyday i am more and more pleased with it! I am curious though, i would rather have the gotch tuners on it...if there is anything that im not a fan of it is the tuners...the rest of the guitar?? only gets better and better and better...along with the fact that there is no one that sees it that isnt blown away! great choice brother!!

I think if I was to spec out a BTO with Coco the only two changes I would have made to the LTD is the tuners and the fretboard inlay (it would be blank).  Thanks to Taylor for giving me a relatively inexpensive BTO :)

I love my 814ce Spring LTD coco!
What an excellent tone - deeper lows than rosewood, slightly more mids and really articulate highs.
Congrats.
