I picked up one of the new 814LTDs from Jim at Guitar Rodeo on Friday. Super nice guitar. Plays well and sounds great. Since letting my last Coco guitar go I've missed that tone a lot and this guitar is just right. Thanks to Jim for another great guitar!

Dave, it has such a beautiful back to it! I hope its sound is as stellar as its looks! Congratulations! :)
-
Dave, congrats on a beauty. I hope you have many years of enjoyment with it.
-
Very nice. I love the wood grain on the back. Congratulations.
-
Beautiful guitar. I'm a big fan of Cocobolos. Congrats.
-
Very nice Coco. Big fan.
-
Cocolicious! Congrats!

Congrats Dave.
I really like the back too. Simply beautiful.

Congrats Dave, very nice looking coco on that one. I see you are using Guitar rodeo pictures, do you have any of your own that are a lbrighter and not so photoshopped? Would love to get a better look at that wood.
Do you have any higher resolution pics of the Guitar Rodeo pictures, I'd like to set one as my desktop!

Not sure what you mean. There was definitely no photoshop there. The guitar looks as good in person as in the photos.

I just put in an order too for a 814ce LTD. I hope it will look as nice as your guitar.
There's no store in Sweden that have them in stock so it's the first guitar I buy without trying first :)
-
Congrats on the new Taylor! She's gorgeous! That color is so rich... 8)

You know you got a great guitar when people think your pictures of it are photoshopped ::)

I can attest that the Guitar Rodeo pictures of my BTO were only a hint of how beautiful the guitar looks in person. The idea that these images were Photoshopped is really an unfortunate slur.

Dave,
Very nice. Congrats. I have had a Taylor just like yours on my wishlist for a while. For now, it can only be on paper. But one of these days ...
Please give a thorough review once you've gotten well acquainted.

I will do that. Right now I'm still in the "it's awesome" honeymoon stage. :) Not sure if/when that will go away. I've missed having a Coco guitar for quite a while. Its good to have one back in the rotation. They have a very cool sound.

Is that the Cindy inlay on the fret board that's usually only on the 900 series or the presentations? It's astonishingly beautiful!

Very pretty :)

No its one of their LTD inlays from a couple years ago. My wife has the same inlay on a BTO she had built.

the Cindy inlay on the guitar on the right is a 914ce that's on Black Beauty's desktop
wall paper & the guitar on the left is Dave's 814ceLTD - they are 2 different guitars

Well its been a few months and I've had a great opportunity to play the 814LTD. I will say I'm as smitten with it after a couple months as I was the first time I picked it up.
About three weeks ago I had gotoh tuners and a bone saddle put on. I love the new tuners. They are a huge upgrade (I have them on my GS also and had forgotten how nice they were after playing my 714 a lot). The bone mellowed the tone a bit but I also thing the guitar has broken in a bit.
While I'm extremely happy with the guitar my other guitars are planning an uprising as they rarely get played. I will hopefully rectify that situation in the coming months but for the moment I'll just bask in the new guitar smell!
I should have bought another coco years ago!

There's nothing WORSE for a case of GAS than having Guitar Rodeo in your town!
Wait, I meant there's nothing BETTER for a case of GAS than having Guitar Rodeo in your town! ;D
Didn't see this thread earlier. That's one sweet slice of Coco there Dave. Glad it sounds as good as it looks.

WOHOAA! Nice! looks like my babys sister right there :) i attained one of these beautys about 2 months ago and everyday i am more and more pleased with it! I am curious though, i would rather have the gotch tuners on it...if there is anything that im not a fan of it is the tuners...the rest of the guitar?? only gets better and better and better...along with the fact that there is no one that sees it that isnt blown away! great choice brother!!
-
i'm green.
green with envy.
wow.

I think if I was to spec out a BTO with Coco the only two changes I would have made to the LTD is the tuners and the fretboard inlay (it would be blank). Thanks to Taylor for giving me a relatively inexpensive BTO :)

Very nice indeed. I have heard nothing but great things about Jim and GR

Beautiful Guitar! I love my 814, but I would love to have that one!
Congratulations!!!

Beautiful!!

I love my 814ce Spring LTD coco!
What an excellent tone - deeper lows than rosewood, slightly more mids and really articulate highs.
Congrats.
