Yikes ...that is a very sweet-looking guitar!  Particularly with the adi/AP bracing, likely making it all the more potent!  After drooling, I just had to click away...for the health of my wallet.  Based on specs and aesthetics, I can really see this model making a "maple turnaround" for the marketplace.

Oh wow, wow, wow, Wow, WOW! I love this guitar, Michael, but that pick guard is incredible! Since I love striped tops, I bet one would look magnificent  especially if Taylor could get the stripes to run vertically on the pick guard! That would look awesome on a guitar with a macassar ebony back. :)

i think the grain orientation on the pickguard is at an angle which is
hopefully close to what most players strumming pick path will be &
on the rosewood 'guards of the 800 series, it gives it a firestripe-esque
look, which could look cool on the 600s if there is more dark/near black
variegation in the ebony, but if the 'guard is actually macassar ... hmm :-\

the roasted, well-done baked torrefied sitka top has a patina that is somewhat
reminiscent of a well-aged 20+ year old top (my 91 412 looks sort of like that) &
the hand-rubbed, french polish style, zero-added thickness transparent brown
stain under the 3.5 gloss looks more koa like than anything, to my eye, which
may appeal to a greater # of potential buyers than either amber or natural (blonde)
no stain clear finish, as i think koa (especially high figure flame) appeals to many :)

618e has been there at least a week or so:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/taylor-618efe-grand-orchestra-acoustic-electric-guitar?rNtt=Taylor%20fe%20614ce&index=3
it wasn't listed as of the 27th, when i posted the link for the 616ce FE :-\
4 models at:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/search?sB=r&Ntt=Taylor+fe+614ce&CJAID=10684459&CJPID=5696037
thanks for the other links 8)
some of the models are nearly 2 months out, but because of thanksgiving break
(past), winter break & winter NAMM, that's reasonable & about the same wait time
that would be expected for a Custom, once it has been assigned a slot in the queue
