   I wondered the same thing when I stumbled upon the different guitar forums.

PS.  GAS = guitar acquisition syndrome   BTW...it is not a curable disease...and those evil guitar makers don't ever want our GAS to be cured either...it's a vicious cycle...

One more VERY important consideration: unlike your birthday or Christmas, you can have as many NGDs in any given year... that you can successfully pull off.

My wife tells me "You can only play one guitar at a time". I reminded her, "Then with so many great wood combos and sound profiles out there, we better up the budget so I can have them all on my lap, one at a time".

I continually tell my wife that I have far less guitars than she has pairs of shoes!

I think that argument only works if your wife buys $2,000 shoes.     Feel free to use, "I don't have to buy a new guitar 'to go with each new outfit'."

AHA! I, too had pondered the meaning of NGD.

Now that I know the meaning, I have to say that my NGD could be as soon as next week! Happy day!
