http://www.taylorguitars.com/sites/default/files/Wood-Steel-Spring-2012-Taylor_EN.pdf...and reading. I think my favorite part was the feature on David Mayfield. Admittedly, I hadn't heard his music before (listening now), but as I'm particularly fond of folksy stuff played by guys with awesome beards (Iron & Wine, Fleet Foxes), I was curious. As someone who enjoys making that type of music with a Taylor dreadnought, it was a refreshing read. It also has me
very curious about these magical Andy-Powers-revoiced dreadnoughts we've heard about several times now. I need one. (Mr. Swerdfeger, this is your cue to drop some hints...)
As a minimalist and someone who tends to lean for a more vintage aesthetic in guitars, I usually don't get excited about fancy limited models, but the Spring Builder's Reserve offering is pretty darn cool. I know I couldn't afford a single piece, let alone the combo, so I won't even entertain the idea.
The limited models look nice -- was hoping for a 3/4 series 12-fret but oh well.
Love the 700 series burst in the nylon article.
Lots of nice stuff in the new issue -- excited to get the real thing in the mail!
