Title: House of the Dragon - HBO
Post by: donlyn on August 28, 2022, 10:21:43 PM
Nobody asked, but I am saying, that off the first two episodes, this is a high quality production that captivates every moment you watch and leaves you wanting more.

This is a prequel, but it has a strong story line which is not spoiled by having watched Game of Thrones, or having read the G.o.T. books either. And like its sequel/predecessor, it is not for the faint of heart.

Great theater. Just saying.

No guitars were harming in the watching of this program. At least so far.  8)

I want to like it but in the first 15 minutes I was bombarded with names I don't recognize and facts I don't know the context of and felt like I was expected to keep track of or I'd be lost forever. . .

Production quality was amazing, but the white hairstyles bugged me as highly unlikely. I also get annoyed when I see costumes that always look like they just got back from the cleaners. Was listening carefully to the music and excellent sound design and heard some of the GOT musical themes being hinted at.

Gonna give it another go, of course, I'm not that lazy as far as paying attention, was just hoping it'd be easier . . .

JP,

Hang in there. You really only need to know the names of the main characters, maybe about a half dozen. And a few faces.

While they are following a Martin outline, don't worry. Each event becomes a new fact, and before you know it, Bob's your uncle. Or maybe Daemon.

And I love the return to the familiar music.
