Just bought some HD Lights at my local music store...
« on: March 09, 2015, 07:01:53 PM »
I've been reading all about how great they are so I thought I would pick up a set to try out. I haven't put them on yet, but I as suffering from a case of sticker shock.

I know we're not supposed to discuss prices, but Andrew Jackson and Abe Lincoln were there and took part in the transaction.

I'm going to buy online from now on.

I use them on both of my GA's. I like them. They do last quite a while, which offsets the price somewhat. Let us know your impressions after you put them on.

I gave up on Elixir. too much $$$.
Switched to D'Addario EXP Phosphor Bronze.
I like the 12/53's on all my guitars.
Ease of play is more noticeable than any change in sound or volume.

I like the HD lights on my 12fret. Yes they are pricey but they seem to last a long time. They can sound a bit bright for a couple of days when you first put them on but once they settle down they are a great string.

Love the sound of them but the trade off is they are harder on the fingers, I Switched back to lights for that reason but they sounded so good I will try them again

Same here...they work on the older GAs as well as the newer GAs in my stable. I like them!

Before the HDs I couldn't coach harmonics out of my 712ce 12 fret. Now they sing. That little change made a big difference.
