One Man Band (Cover) by Old Dominion

stepped outside my comfort zone and covered a country song...on a small body, irish guitar...oh the irony! I found this band recently and can't stopped listening to them. I've been working pretty hard at it, since I'm not used to the rhythm and timing, but man, this song is so fun to play!

Thanks! it’s nerve wracking and frustrating! my condenser mics are so sensitive that it picks up wind from my ceiling fan..and the red light syndrome is real.

i enjoy the misery tho, it’s fun to share with others!

thanks! i used the lowden for the clarity and sustain with a capo so high up the neck and the comfort of the armrest....and for some irony lol

Great job Zee, and thanks for introducing me to a new tune. I am going to listen to Dominion next. That style fits what I like to play and it may have to be added to the list. While I have been busy learning a couple new tunes this year, no way am I doing a one take live recording, of course my kids would get in a fight and the dog would bark anyway, so at least it would be entertaining:)
I find for capo above the 3rd or 4th fret my v-class are better for me, but I really liked the sound of your lowden.

wow, thanks for the compliment. recording live was...interesting. first my mics picked up the wind from air circulating from my ceiling fan. then my daughter came in and kept making noises which the kids picked up lol. so i feel ya pain.

i agree - i briefly had a V class taylor and the power when using a capo high up the neck was noticeably  better than all of my Taylor X braced. technically the V brace was more powerful up the neck even without a capo then my x braced taylors

that’s actually why i use my lowden on this song - it doesn’t care where you put a capo or what tuning you’re in (i was in standard) - the lowden maintains its balance. plus, the lowdens are incredibly responsive, it’s literally effortless to play. they don’t handle a heavy attack well, but that’s fine bc i don’t play with a heavy attack

don’t worry, i love all my taylors and lowdens
