I was just at one of the local guitar stores in South Florida. They have a 2006 714ce (great condition) it appears to have a cedar top. Does that make sense? Did Taylor use cedar Back then. Wish I could afford it.

98-11s had cedar tops standard -
12-13 engelmann
13.5-current sitka
96-7 sitka, with CED models having cedar

I've owned a 2006 714ce with a cedar top and loved it. I would make sure the frets are in good shape, and if you can get it for a good price, don't hesitate.
