Absolutely.  Bastogne walnut is a rare, naturally occuring hybrid between two walnut species that is particularly dense and hard.  Bob Taylor refers to it as "Rosewood on steroids".  George Lowden compares the projection to mahogany and the overtones to rosewood, but with more midrange and fundamental clarity.

The Adirondack top allows for max clarity, projection, and note separation.  While I don't have experience with Engelman, I own guitars topped with Adi, Sitka, Mahogany, Cedar, and sinker redwood.

George Lowden likes cedar tops on small bodied walnut guitars, and redwood on medium sized guitars..

Bob Taylor refers to it as "Rosewood on steroids".

To clarify, Bob used this phrase exclusively to describe the 400 year-old black walnut used for the Cujo guitars made in 1997. I still have the Wood and Steel article in hard copy. I have not seen him use this phrase in relation to any other walnut since.
My Taylor Grand Auditoriums:

1997 Cujo14 - old growth cedar/black walnut
2014 K24e - master grade koa
2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany
2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood

My reference is attached.  While my source misquoted Taylor, Bastogne is the densest Walnut.

Interesting how misquotes occur. Claro has been typically used on Taylors following the run of the Cujo series. I'm not sure where the Cujos' black walnut (source of Bob's "rosewood on steroids" comment) fits into this mix. In any case, it appears from the article above that they're all similar in tone, so any sort of walnut is probably a good choice.

But it is awesome to own a guitar with interesting provenance,  like your Cujo.   I own a few myself. .....
