Maple syrup, especially lighter syrups, makes a great glaze for grilled salmon.

I bet it would, if you liked salmon (I actually don't  ;)). It's also tasty on oatmeal.

Well I took Mark's advice about the salmon tonight and made a glaze with the magic maple syrup. I didn't have all the ingredients for some of the recipes I found so I just kind of made one up with what I had. I don't know the measurements but I used the syrup, of course, and added a little ketchup, rice wine vinegar, paprika and sea salt. I poured it over the salmon in the pan right before it was done and let it simmer. It was really good!

Cool....happy to hear it turned out good. Sounds like you are a great cook.  Pure maple syrup also adds a great flavor when you use it in a pecan pie.  Oh great.....now I'm getting hungry  :-\.

Just got home to incredible kitchen smells. My wife is roasting a chicken, basting with a mixture of butter, rosemary, fresh orange juice, orange zest and dark maple syrup. Report later.

If it had been possible to get it to the UK I'd have bitten your hand off  :D. However, it looks like I might be having an extended stay in the US next year for my 60th, so will keep an eye out on the forum, just in case you produce some for out of state shipment next year.

Will be bottling (special plastic jugs) for some forum members next year (shipment to various states). Probably can take care of you next year if you are in the states.
