I just ordered my 3rd. Taylor guitar, a 522 12 fret.  My 814ce and GSMini hog wanted company (don't think the wife is buying that).  Anyhow, I may want a good quality gig bag for the new guitar.  Can anyone suggest one that will fit well?

Everyone will have his or her own opinion.  Here's mine:  I've never seen a better-made, more protective, and more convenient-to-use case than this one.

I take it to guitar camps and open-mic gigs, and it looks as good today as it did the day I bought it.  If you value your guitar, spend the money and invest in a great gig bag.

Why would you prefer a gig bag over the fine case this guitar will no doubt come with?  Is it the weight factor?

Fine choice in model, I'd love to get me a 12 fret Taylor some day... :P

Yep, exactly, I've been spoiled by my GS Mini gig bag.  The ability to sling the guitar on my back while pushing a small hand truck for amp, etc. and making only one trip from the car is really important at my age (75 yrs.).

The hard case will be great for storage and will be used for some transportation.

While Taylor makes a bigger hard bag, it fits the GA and Dreadnaught so I think a GC would swim in it, but Access stage 3 is a great a bag and I understand it fits the GC size well with the smaller guitar bag. They also make stage 1 or 5 bags for more or less protection and are easy to deal with.

I ended up going with the Taylor bag for my GA because the fit was better, but I preferred the construction and features of the Access bag if it had fit better.
Lots of options out there.

If you can get a Taylor hard bag I would vote for that.  I think my GS Mini bag is excellent.

Have you considered this:
http://elderly.com/accessories/items/BACK.htm

I have the smaller version for my hardshell dulcimer case. Knowing it was the only case I was going to use it on, after I got it all adjusted, I cut off the strap ends and sealed them so they didn't fray and I tacked (sewed) strategic locations so they didn't loosen. It's a really nice design and allows you to have the best of both worlds......backpack straps for your case and protection of a hardshell. Also, it's quite a bit cheaper than buying a second case and you won't have a second case to store. Just a thought.

My 522 12 fret arrived this morning.  What a beautiful instrument.  Only had a short time to play it but it looks like this one is a keeper.  My thanks to John at Shoreline Music for a great purchase and a beautiful guitar.

Also, my thanks to all who replied. A couple of those recommended gig bags look like they would work fine.
