Is this possible...?
« on: May 28, 2012, 09:01:39 PM »
Hi :)

I was just wondering if I pay more money if I could change the 114ce rosette to an abalone rosette/ the dots to abalone dots? I probably can't but maybe it's possible... :)

Thanks!

hello :)
the 214ce SB (sunburst) & 214ce BLK (gloss black) would probably be the closest
in terms of what's currently offered (they have a pearloid rosette & fretmarkers)

it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...

Don't confuse "possible" with "potentially".

Anything is possible.

That said, don't expect them to do it. It's doubtful you have enough money to compel them to do agree to do it. Since they don't do anything like that in Tecate, it would disrupt production.

You would be better off either following Mike's suggestion, or simply finding that one 114ce out there that really speaks to you, and buy it for the sound...
No one has ever been on their death-bed wishing they'd been more practical...

the most economical option could  be these
rosette
fret markers

there have been 400 series LTD with abalone rosettes recently -
spring 10
spring 11

perhaps there could  be some 200 series LTDs with pearloid rosettes in the future -
a transparent stain maple, cedar top rosewood or tasmanian blackwood laminate would be cool, imho  8)
