New to forum; new (used) 2003 314 LTD

New to this forum...yesterday was a happy day for me (unfortunate day perhaps to the previous owner who had to put it on consignment)
but I got this full gloss 2003 Taylor 314 Ltd with Koa back & sides.
Fair price and a beautiful sound!

I owned a 355 many years ago....hands can't stand the 12 string strain. Also had a GS Mini that I gave to another musician.
This one is a keeper.

Welcome, and very pretty guitar!  I am a big fan of koa myself, and play a lot of Hawaiian music.

I came across my koa GS in much the same way.  It was pristine and three years old, so it was obviously someone's baby.  But it appeared in my local shop during the depths of the economy, so someone was probably selling it to make a house payment.
Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.
*Gone but not forgotten:  a 2001 414ce, 410, 354-LTD twelve string, 314-N, 416-LTD baritone, T5 Classic, 615ce, 2006 GS-K, 1996 (first year) Baby

I was actually on a hunt for an OM or something similar...I was thinking rosewood. My local Martin/Taylor shop had this Koa 314 at a reasonable price. My previous experiences with koa guitars was that they sounded brittle to me, but this one has apparently mellowed out over it's 12 years. Very full and rich sound. The full gloss was a nice added bonus!
