Title: Do any Taylors have a nut width other than 1-3/4"?
Post by: Evan on July 04, 2015, 01:33:31 AM
This is perhaps a stupid question, but it's only now occurring to me that I've never seen a Taylor with a nut that wasn't 1-3/4" (aside from my 1-7/8" 12-string, which I adore).

As I've gotten more into fingerstyle, 1-13/16" is my new minimum comfort zone, but I can't seem to find any Taylors in my searches. Am I just not looking hard enough, or is it a special order type of thing?

Some  models e.g. 514ce have an option....

Nut widths: 1 11/16" or 1 7/8" (except nylons and 12-frets) $200

Thanks. Do I understand correctly that there's only those two options (no 1-13/16")?

The latest BTO work sheet seems to only specify the three widths, unless anyone else who has been through the process knows otherwise.

You might consider a 1 7/8" neck option with a nut cut to 1 13/16...if the 1 7/8" neck is not too large for you.
