I posted this in the "holy grail" thread, but it seems appropriate here as well.  For me, it would be a mid-90's 912 or 912c with Engelmann... to really go nuts Brazilian back and sides, although I don't know if they made them with BRW.  I've really grown into a rosewood guy and love the GC/OM body size.

That said, a friend has a Taylor 12 string that sounds like a hundred beautiful guitars playing at once.  I am not sure of the model, but it's got amazing tone.

Howdy,

The best sounding Taylor I've played is the 518e Grand Orchestra. Big, articulate tone (It's a 'Hog, afterall) and easy playability; What's not to like?
'02 baby Taylor, Martin d18 and d28.

The T5z is such a versatile, comfortable guitar. The warmth and simplicity of an acoustic with the dynamic range, versatility, playability and comfort of an electric. It's a masterpiece.

The 2016 322e 12-Fret is top of my shopping list at the moment, so I might change my mind later in the year.  I love my 816ce, and I've already posted that it's the best guitar I've ever owned, and probably the best guitar I've ever played.  But if I was stuck on a desert island and could only take one Taylor, I don't need too long to think about it - it would be my Mini Koa.  I think the Mini is good enough to be the only guitar you'd ever need, if push came to shove...

When I read these posts, I see the variety of answers and smile........my compliments to Taylor for a job well done.  All our needs/wants are different and there's something out there for everyone. Probably also explains why many of us have multiple Taylors.

My 2015 816ce.  There was something about that guitar that drew me in at the first strum.

If I had to let everything else go, that would be the one I keep.

simple, my '95 812ce. It's been my main guitar since 1995. I could get rid of the others and be fine (I won't, but I could...hypothetically)  ::)
The Taylors:
   1995 Taylor 812ce
   1996 Taylor 510c
   1997 Taylor 810-WMB
   1997 Taylor 422-R

   2003 Baby Taylor
2 mandolins, 3 basses, a couple dulcimers & 2 trumpets

I can't answer this one. But I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to own the two I have.
