NGD Last Week With A Steal Of A Deal
« on: April 11, 2016, 09:54:20 PM »
Purchased a open box scratch n dent 210 DLX from an online retailer. I was hesitant about S n D's, but I couldn't pass up the deal of 25% off the retail price. Got the guitar and I couldn't find a mark on it for about 3 days. Then over the weekend while I was changing the strings and cleaning it up I found what appeared to be a small barely noticeable dent on the top right side lower bout near the edge. About a 16th of an inch in just at the right angle and lighting. If thats it I'm happy with that. There's no scratches or cracks of any kind. Even the PG is scratch free minus the static cling Elixir logo thats usually put on. I've never had a dreadnought, didn't really care for the shape, but I read that Taylor dreads are a mix between a Martin and a Gibson. Sounds great too. Really like the low end sound, but yet loud enough that there's no need for electronics. Anyone else take a chance on a S n D with a great deal and was surprised at what you got either online or in a retail music store? Oh... This guitar is just barely 2 months old. Early Feb is start production date.

Sounds like your gamble paid off. Cool! Both the top and back have real nice grain.
I've never had a good opportunity to take advantage of something like that. It would have to be something I kinda wanted anyway.

Very nice guitar.  Never have taken a chance on a S&D model from an on-line dealer.  Have done it with a new purchase.

And love the grain in the top wood.  Always have liked wide grain on the outside edge with tighter in the middle.

Nice grab on the scratch and dent.  The wood looks very nice.  I bet the sound is equally as nice.

By retail price do you mean MSRP?

Maybe I meant wholesale. Whatever the actual price is that dealers sell them for that taylor allows. i thought it was retail. i always mix them up,lol... MSR on these guitars is over a 1000.
