There was a thread where someone replaced their plastic GS Mini truss rod with a wood one as an upgrade.
I looked around on the internet and from what they were offering & the $$ they want I prefer what I was able to produce my own.
The problem is, I got a little carried away (having fun) and made too many to choose from.
I have made my choices and I'm now offering the remaining 12 extras FREE to USA addresses only, one per person.
My only requirement is you post a picture of your GS Mini in this thread to validate it's for a GS Mini..
If you wish to pay something for it, just make a donation to this forum in any amount.
You'll need to PM me an address to mail it to, no name required. I can use your forum name.
You'll also need to give me a first and second choice from the picture below.
I've updated my offerings after making 6 Figured Koa TRC's today.
Top row is Koa and the first one in the second row.
They all came of the same strip of wood so they don't vary much.
The middle 3 in row 2 are Sapele and the next 4 are a light spalted wood of unknown species.
The very last one is Rosewood.

Craig, I love the figure near the neck of your Koa GS Mini.
My stipulation of USA addresses only is to keep it simple and inexpensive for me.

The one next to the blue "X" is figured Koa on the back of Rosewood.
Give me a day or two and I'll squirt some lacquer on the back side, that way you can use either side.

Randy, I have 14 TRC's Left, 6 of them Koa.

Joe, I have a figured Koa one that will go quite nicely with your new GS Mini.

I still have 3 Koa, 3 Sapele, 1 Rosewood & 5 light colored (Maple?) TRC's left.

Looks great.
I've had that piece of Koa since the mid 1990's, a gift from a friend who got it (gifted) from someone in Hawaii.
It's enjoyable to share part of it.
The Rosewood was a gift from a furniture maker we met at a lumber store who was looking for someone to put to use his exotic scraps.

Barb, from the photo you supplied it looks like the TRC was hit by something in the mail since the finish looks cracked.
If this is the case, I could send you my last remaining Sapele TRC if you like.

I'm out of Koa TRC's at the moment.
My recommendation is to go with the unusually figured Maple ones in this photo.

I still have 4 figured Maple (some with spalting) and 2 Sapele.

Woodnut, do you have that one sapele TRC in the middle on the bottom row in the picture above? I think that one would compliment my GS Mini Hog quite nicely.
Edit: I have attached a picture of my GS Mini as you requested. Also, I'm in the continental US. :)

I have one Ebony and three Maple TRC's left.
I may make more sometime in the future but don't hold your breath.

Thanks so much for the TRC.
On a side note, I had a bone nut and a Bob Colosi saddle installed. Not sure if it made much of a difference, it certainly didn't hurt.
I'll be doing a side by side test next to a friend's GSM, exact same model - no mods done to it.
I've experimented with strings and it seems to really like the John Pearse 80/20 in light gauge.

Awhile back I gave a friend an assortment of 4 TRC's to choose from.
Yesterday he returned to me one Ebony and one Ebony/Koa.
The Ebony/Koa one is the two wood species laminated together and finished both sides, so it's your choice which side to choose from.

Woodnut, I think it's awesome that you're doing this for GS Mini owners. It's so nice to see generosity in action.
Like the other guy, I'm posting a pic of my two Minis in hopes that more TRCs will become available. I have a Holden Mini and a hog, and I love them both. I'll take anything you care to send me (should something come available), but I'd prefer something darker like ebony or rosewood or koa.
(I hope the pic shows up. It doesn't appear in the preview.)

Here's what I have left.
I think it's Maple with quite an interesting grain.
I have some Sapele, Ebony & a limited supply of Koa 1/8" thick pieces I ran through my overhead sander for possibly more TRC's, but I'm not guarantying anything .
It's getting close to camping season, yard work etc. for us and I probability won't get around to making more for a spell.
Got to build some gates around here, etc
One of these would compliment a Holden Village Maple GS Mini..

Finally got my TRC on Wood nut. Had to file one of the holes out just a little bit and it took me a little while to get around to that. It looks fantastic! Thanks again. I will be looking for an opportunity to pay it forward.
