Bone effects w/ maple guitars (6 series)?

Anyone thoughts from someone that owned or owns a 6-series and make the switch to bone saddle and/or nut?

I've read a lot about the affect of bone generically, but was wondering how it applied specifically to maple guitars.  What difference did it make?  Sound samples?

I put a bone saddle and pins on the GS6e. It actually seemed to "warm" this one up some. The volume is outstanding, & the plain strings don't sound chimey. But: I also reset the neck, which allowed me to lower the action and increase the amount of saddle above the bridge.

i was wondering what qualities you are looking to accentuate or attenuate with a different saddle
what you like about your guitar, what you do not like & what you feel could be improved upon tonally

i've played a 09 GSceLTD - MA (sitka/maple) with adi CV bracing & bone nut & saddle & to me, i felt that
 the adi CV added a good bit of depth & warmth overall, with the bone possibly accenting it slightly

on other maple Taylors (engelmann top & sitka), i've found that i prefer harder saddle &
pin material (Tusq or WAHI), along with bluegrass gauge (.012 - .056) PB strings -
i had a bone saddle that was in a 00 414mace (sitka/maple) with mahogany neck &
i replaced that saddle with Tusq ... pre-Standard II & Standard II braced sitka/maple
with a bone saddle just are not what i'm looking for in terms of clarity & definition (loss)

Thanks for the feedback, and good question about what I'm after.  All in all, I'd say I'm pretty happy with the tone out of my 614ce (which is my main guitar).  I can't say I'm necessarily looking to improve anything in particular.

Just having read so many posts/blogs about the affects of bone, I was wondering what it would do for me.  I realize it's a fairly cheap thing to try, but just wanted insight before I dove in.
