MGap.....when they first came out and I read about them in the W&S and thought "this looks like the guitar for me".....I'd been playing a 2009 855ce since 2009 and now wanted a 6 string.....the first 2013 FLTD I got was the 514ce, the GA.....loved it from the first strum.....and being a jumbo and a 12 string player for years I kept wondering if the 514 was this awesome could the 516 give me "even more"? so I got a 516.......but didn't let the 514 go right away, the 516 would have to prove itself to me first.....so to answer your question (finally...ha...ha..) the GS version of this FLTD has a bit more bottom, call it, fullness, and a bit more volume.....over all balance of all strings is very similar in both, with the 514 having a little EQ bump in the mids to upper mids, and the 516 EQ bump would be in the lows and lower mids.....hope that makes sense.....neither is a "better" guitar than the other.....just depends on the player and the style.....ever so slight edge to the 514 for finger style, and the same slight edge to the 516 for rhythm players.....but both bodies handle both styles with ease.....I've been around Taylors since my 2009 855ce and I've read every W&S along the way.....the 814ce has always been considered the flagship of all Taylors.......personally, I have never played an 814 that sounded as good as the 2013 514ce FLTD or the 516ce FLTD.....
