2019 717 Builders Edition Natural DEMO
« on: August 22, 2019, 02:19:57 PM »
Here is a short recording of the 717 BE.  https://youtu.be/s3WPkC0oR8s

One microphone - Royer R10 into UA LA-610 Mk II into Steinberg UR44 into Cubase 10 Pro.
Used Ozone 7 plugin on stereo output with minimal EQ and very slight one band Compression.
GoPro Hero 4 black 1080p for the video. Did not use the audio from the GoPro.  Assembled in Vegas Pro.

I think this guitar records exceptionally well. The only EQ applied to the guitar channel was -3db at 200hz.
Added a touch of reverb with a very short tail and a 20ms delay on the early reflections.

Andy was right. This guitar records very well without the typical audio issues associated with most acoustic guitars.
It is my first Taylor without electronics. So far so good!

Great demo! It certainly does record well! For as big a body style as it is, it doesn't come across "boomy" at all.   :D

Nice recording and performance - sounds great, and I suspect that your playing has something to do with it!

Thank you all for the kind words. Strumming Fool - I have recorded that piece with other Taylors thru the same set up and the 717 definitely records better....playing aside. There is also something about NOT having electronics built in....well....especially in the price! Cheers!
