*This guitar will be unavailable from August 10 - September 2 as I will be out of the country and unable to ship it during that time.*

I placed an order for a BTO Taylor grand concert koa guitar and it arrived at the dealer not too long ago.  I had my spouse go and pick it up, and was so disappointed in the appearance of it.  (Yes, my mother, my spouse and the dealer all think Iʻm crazy).  Iʻm extremely particular about the wood on my instruments and could not stand the knot on the front lower right of the soundboard.  It was so distracting to me that I couldn't get used to it.  So a couple of days later, after it just sat in the case in my closet, I took it back to the dealer and he listed it for sale on his website, in new condition as I never registered the instrument with Taylor.

MSRP (and the selling price the dealer had listed on his website) was $9100.  The dealer told me that because I did not register the guitar he would input the changes to have the full warranty given to the new purchaser if they contact him after the sale.  I am asking $4250 or best offer, but am not looking for any trades.

This is a built to order “custom” Taylor AA koa grand concert guitar, with a 12 fret to the body configuration. It also features a huge amount of upgrades, including a figured maple armrest, a satin neck finish, Gotoh 510 mini tuners in antique gold, as well as a Venetian cutaway.

Think of that knot as a beauty mark....  where would Marilyn be without her mole?

Best on the sale, and happy picking on the firefly!

Thank you both, I appreciate it.  But it just isn’t for me, and the Firefly is perfect for me.  I put it in the Taylor Facebook group for sale and. someone said it looked like it had a bullet hole in it, so I hope someone disagrees with him and agrees with the two of you.

good luck with your sale, the back is drop dead gorgeous. most koa taylors do not have that much flame today.

the guitar is beautiful!

That's a stunning guitar and if I had the extra $$ to spend I'd rescue from it's home.
I've been a Cabinetmaker all my working life and the past 25 years or so a woodturner and furniture maker and like the first responder said "it's a beauty mark"
They removed it's twin with the arm rest you ordered so it may look a tiny bit unbalanced but in no way a flaw, it's a natural product.
Some of the furniture I've made has those character spots that go all the way through the lumber and people think they look great.
Taylor did an excellent job on that BTO just like they did on mine.

Besides, a bullet hole would be kind of cool. Elvin Bishop had a pawn shop 335 with a prominent bullet hole he bought in 1967  Talk about mojo...

This axe should be just about as comfy as a Taylor can get!  Best on the sale of this beauty

I am temporarily dropping the price on this to $4500. I want to hopefully sell this before leaving the country for three weeks. After next week, it will be unavailable until I return, and then the price will be raised back up. If you are interested in a fully customized guitar that plays great, and sounds great, with upgraded koa, take your opportunity to get it for half price. This guitar has an MSRP of $9100 and would be a steal at $4500.
