Show Your Favorite Taylor
« on: November 10, 2018, 01:25:14 PM »
I searched and this hasn't been covered in over 3 years so I thought a lot of things have changed in the past 3 years.  So, near the end of 2018, what is the favorite Taylor that you own?  I've owned many models from GS Mini to 914's.  I've had a GS Mini, T5, 314's, a 614, 516, 812, 814, 912 and 914.  My favorite of all of them came down to my 814 and 914.  The 2012 914 stands out as the best Taylor I've ever played.  It's a keeper.

Love those older 914s! I think that all my Taylors in my signature below are great guitars, but if I had to choose the one with the magic sound, it would be my '97 Cujo 14. After all these years, that guitar still stuns me every time I play it. There's something special about that 400 year old black walnut back and cedar top that gets me every time!

My 2016 914, if I had to choose. It gives me a strong voice when I want it for bluegrass, but it can also be gentle with one of my slower fingerstyle songs. It was a gift from my dear husband, so it is special. It's traditional in its woods, but bold with is beautiful appointments. A truly comfortable guitar to play.

2013 616ce Spring Limited with a European Spruce top and African Ebony back/sides. Unplugged, nothing I own comes close to the sweet tone and power this guitar possesses.

Here's my fave, and my go-to live guit for years now.  2A-Sitka top, 2A-quilted b/s, RW binding, slim-carve neck, and "artist" fretboard/headstock inlays that echo the slightly green hue of the paua shell.  And of course, sounds amazing!

(not really as "green" as the pic suggests, but it is green-hued paua.  The following pics are more color accurate)

Am I allowed another? ;)
My Style2 which gets played more than my DN as this is my go-to home playing and rehearsal guit ...just recently got a refret from the mothership in fact.
Engelmann over 4A quilt b/s and neck, coco binding, green-heart abalone rosette.  Sounds bold and deep; its sonic girth defies its GC size ...love it! :)

I've got it's 12-string brother too, and off-the-shelf 562ce. They play nice, just not together!
