New in SE Asia
« on: November 07, 2018, 09:26:49 AM »
It's great to join a group of like minded Taylor Guitar enthusiasts and owners.  I have two Taylor's and could not be happier.

I am not a shredder by any means, but love fingerstyle blues, fingerstyle anything and Praise and Worship.  Normally, I will practice 4 to 6 hours four days a week and maybe a couple of hours of noodling the other days.

If you ever wonder what it is like to live close to the Equator and enjoy a scorching sun with extreme humidity feel free to ask.  The environment presents some very unique challenges to caring for a solid wood Taylor or any guitar for that matter.  If you are like me you keep your guitar properly humidified or in my case de-humidified at about 52% in the case.  Thanks Boveda 49% High Absorption - it works where all else has failed.

I look forward to sharing and caring in this like minded community.

Hello! Welcome to the forum :) I'm new here too. What are the unique challenges to caring for your guitar near the equator? Do you need to keep it from drying out too much?

Hi DO18. Welcome to the UTGF. Humidity issues, especially in the summer and winter are discussed regularly around here. Your experience dealing with high humidity should certainly benefit a few folks. :)
