Ordered a 812ce 12-Fret.  How stupid, I cannot believe I ordered a non V braced Taylor.  Oh well guess the suffering well start on Tuesday when it shows up.

I would not call that suffering. Just because of the V-brace, doesn't mean any of these other Taylor's are inferior. They are still the awesome guitars they've always been. Congrats, looking forward to your NGD report.

Ditto what TaylorGirl said.  The 2015 re-voicing of the 600 and 800 series was a change, not necessarily an improvement, in the opinion of many.  V-bracing is the next version of that.  The same can be said for 90's era necks versus the NT neck system.  My youngest Taylor has a 2010 build date, and I've not missed the subsequent "new and improved" versions.  My first Taylor - a 2001 414ce - is chugging along nicely still and is my primary gigging guitar.

If you are old enough to remember the 70's, we faced the same thing with the Chevy Camaro and the Pontiac Trans-Am.  They were really the same car, mostly with different trim packages.  So a new V-braced 814 or an older X-braced 814 will be slightly different, but far more alike than not.  One is likely not dramatically better than the other.  YMMV, of course since we all hear differently.
Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.
*Gone but not forgotten:  a 2001 414ce, 410, 354-LTD twelve string, 314-N, 416-LTD baritone, T5 Classic, 615ce, 2006 GS-K, 1996 (first year) Baby

I was sorta being silly, many consider the 12 fret 812 to be Andy's greatest achievement so far.

On the other hand my Type 1 R. Taylor with asymmetrical bracing has so far put anything I have had to shame including some really nice Huss and Daltons, Collings, and Bourgeois models.  Being a GS size it is a little large for steady play with my wimpy small hands.

I will post a ngd for it on Wedensday and one for my R. Taylor which I never did.

Still intrigued by V-bracing but more in the GA or GS size.
