NGD, K14ce Builder’s Edition
« on: February 25, 2018, 10:09:01 AM »
I received my new K14ce Builder’s Edition on Friday. I placed an order as soon as Taylor announced the new V-class line through my FLGS (favorite/friendly local guitar shop).
It’s certainly beautiful to look at. But the real surprise is how it sounds and plays. This is the best acoustic guitar I ever played, period. I went through so many guitars since I started playing 45 years ago. There are many great sounding or playing guitars. But never together the tonality AND playability. Also the “intonation” issue which Andy talked with much of the emphasis in numerous introductory videos about V-class guitars. I was skeptical about it, but now I’m a total believer.
It is really eye opening experience that anywhere on the fret board the dynamics, tonality and volume/sustain are consistent. It provides an illusion that I became a better player. It’s so effortless to play.
Ok. Enough excitement. Pics will follow.

Well after 45 years you finally did it.  Congratulations!  This K14 sure does intrigue me, I really must get my hands on one and give it a spin.

Thanks. Is yours Builder's Edition as well?
I understand that both yours and mine have the same starting date and yours went into the production line right after mine.
But what about models? Same model goes into production as a batch so that the neighboring serial number means the same model?
Does anyone know?

WOW..................................that is STUNNING!   :o 8)

I can't help but think that finger style players will absolutely love the "V-bracing."  Not saying that strummers wouldn't notice and love it too, but finger style players will prob love the extra resonating that V Bracing is bringing to the table.

I would LOVE to try a V braced 324 as I bought a 324 back in Dec of 2016.  I'd love to know how V bracing affects tone woods like Mahogany which aren't as resonate as say Spruce etc.

Congrats again Giraku, I hope it provides you with years of joy!

She's a real beauty.
Just noticed that we both started guitar about the same time. It will be 45 years for me too, this year.

Yes it is.  Got lucky and found a Taylor demo day at a guitar shop not too far from me.  Picked it up last weekend.  It's a gift to myself for an upcoming accomplishment so I'm keeping it in the case until that is complete.  I did play it at the shop but not since it's been home.  Dang is that tough.
