HOF stands for hall of fame. I live in Canton, Ohio, home of the NFL hall of fame.
dad because I'm a proud father of two boys (not really boys now - both in college - oldest graduates next month)

When I'm not playing a Taylor guitar my other passion is fell running (a fell is "A hill or stretch of high moorland, especially in northern England" - Oxford English dictionary). Up until a couple of years ago I used to spend a lot of time in charge of an Intensive Care Unit but that was too boring for a username!

My user name, King of Swirl, is from church. We have one main worship director and two other worship leaders, and the three of them rotate Sundays. Our director usually picks songs from groups like Hillsong, Bethel, etc. A lot of that music, if you're unfamiliar with it, features electric guitar parts with very wet, ambient sounds--lots of delay and spacey reverb. My pedalboard has Strymon Big Sky, Blue Sky, Timeline and Mobius in order to deliver those sounds. (On some days, if the keyboardist is out, I can fake the pads.) The Disaster Area controllers and loop switchers are great, btw.

She calls those sounds "swirly sounds." Eventually someone called me the King of Swirl.

So there you go.

Wickedwahine is my screen name.  Wahine means woman in Hawaiian, and I spend about 20% of the year there.  Nope, I am not wealthy at all, but my mom has five timeshares on Kauai and a few weeks a year on Oahu as well.  Since I am an only child that works from home, and she is single, she takes me with her each time she goes.

As a result of having spent most of my life going there so much, I love all things Hawaiian, playing ukulele, doing hula, their food, etc.

The wicked is because I used to play rec league softball for a team called the Wicked Women.  :)

Right now, my name indicates one of the styles of music I play. Old-time stringband music.  It had previously been the name of my Scandinavian music band. When that ended, didn't want to be reminded of it anymore.

Interestingly enough, I'm still playing Scandinavian music, just with different folks.

Since I was 7 I knew what I wanted to do for a living and that is to be a Cabinetmaker.
Beautiful wood gets me going and I love to make things so, I'm my happiest when I'm out in our fully equipped home cabinet shop.
It has rubbed off on my wife too so we're having a great time during our retirement.

I made this dresser for my wife recently. It's made of Canary wood, Figured Walnut and Figured Pacific Coast Maple.
The 3 drawer boxes are made of Sapele with some left over 1/4 Teak plywood for the bottoms.
I'll spend a lot of time at the lumber yard going through almost every board ( you're allowed to pick) trying to find that just right board.
The last picture is my wife's Figured Pacific Coast Maple & Sapele sewing box that won first place at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup.
I'm very proud of her.

I love how Taylor picked out the Ovangkol for my custom 12 fret, excellent job.
I found out it also goes by the name of Shedua and bought several beautiful boards for a future project.
This is why I go as Woodnut. :D Danny

Thanks you both :D. Sorry it took me so long to respond as I didn't get a notification.

I just discovered a few minutes ago that there's a faint white arrow, top right of the page, that drops down to reveal my icon and "Show unread posts since last visit".
It had disappeared a couple years ago and couldn't figure out why.
Now I can check this forum more often  :) Danny

I'm a professional photographer.

Thankfully, it's still a hobby that I enjoy, as well...

Back when I was a professional worship leader I birthed sacred ground music - hence ‘sacred ground’. Now that I’m a senior pastor with a larger staff, I look back on those simple years of playing guitar for a living...
