A couple of bits on my Mini . . .
« on: March 30, 2017, 09:55:31 AM »
I replaced the pins and TRC on my GS Mini Koa with ebony items, gives it a nice visual uplift I think  . . .

Nice magirus.  It does make a nice improvement.

I did those bridge pins on my koa mini too. Love the TRC!

Thanks for the kind words! The TRC came from ebay seller acmesupergenius , who also trades via his website WEC Inlay .  It's beautifully well made and the screw holes are precisely drilled for a straight swap, the measurements between the hole centres are detailed on the ebay ad. It took 8 days from ordering to delivery from Canada to the UK.

As my original pictures have gone, courtesy of Photobucket, and I've also now changed the strap button, I thought I'd update this thread. I bought an ebony end pin from ebay for the princely sum of £3.76, removed the shaft, drilled a hole in the button, epoxied a suitably cut screw into the hole and cut a leather washer, so it matches the Taylor pins and the TRC I installed a while ago. Just the tuners to go now for a full "black bits" look!

The uncut end pin . . .

The bits in situ . . .

Nice work magirus.  To bad about the initial photos, I have the same problem.

Photography is my main hobby, and after the PB debacle I tried a few different hosting sites, and also looked into setting up my own site. SmugMug works best for my needs and is far better than PB ever was is, less than £3 per month for the Basic package that does enough for me. Apart from a very customisable interface, it won over the rest I looked at for ease of up/downloading and ease of posting to a forum from iMac/Pad/Phone.

The upgrades look outstanding! I love the truss rod cover. Everything you did seems very tasteful. Thumbs up!

I use "Blogger" (aka Blogspot), which is owned by Google. I maintain my music website there (link in my sig below) and also have a separate blog to host images for use in forums like this one. It's easier than snot, and a lot easier than image storage websites. There are easy tools to control the size of the images, etc. Additionally, Google Photos (whaere the Blogspot images are stored) has unlimited storage. YMMV but this tactic works well for me . . .  :D
