Advice from others: Caution
« on: January 03, 2012, 08:27:45 PM »
Just a quick word of caution to beginning players or first time solid wood guitar owners.
Take all suggestions and advice w/a grain of salt, including mine,( after all, I have a box full of Wal-Mart Creamies strings).
If a suggestion is echoed by several members, chances are it has some merit.

this is very true, Steve, as the information & input here may or
may not be what is best for the one who making the decision -
there are many variables & in the end, the one who is purchasing &
will be playing that guitar is the only one that will know it is 'right'

a lot of great knowledge & experience is being shared in this forum -
thanks to everyone for participiting & for making this place what it is :)

So is that a lie?

Said by a friend of mine back when we were kids:  "Would I lie to you?  Yes.  So I lied."

Screenwriter William Goldman, who wrote Butch Cassidy and many big movies of the 70's and 80's, when asked what he had learned by being in Hollywood, replied, "Nobody knows anything."
Collectively we have tons of knowledge here, but at the end of the day it is what you believe and learn on your own. No one can play for you, no one can hear what you hear, see what you see.
