So I was browsing the Taylor site earlier (they just gave it a face lift) and I think they made an update to the bracing page:
https://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/acoustic/features/bracingPerformance (used on the 300, 400, 500, 700, Koa Series)
Customized by body shape, Performance Bracing is grounded in the X-brace tradition with modifications that allow for subtle adjustments in brace shape and placement to influence how the top moves in relation to the back and sides. The design features a two-part bridge plate, resulting in a louder, more powerful tone.
That sounds different than the old description of the Standard II. And I believe 'Performance Bracing' is what the new 500 series has. Does this mean the 300, 400, and 700 series are getting bracing changes too? So I guess no more Standard II bracing with Relief Route? Or am I just reading too much into that?
Not a big deal, but it just peaked my curiosity.
I'm kind of split on the new bracings coming from Taylor these days. I don't care for the new 800's, but I like the sound of the new 600's. I've read varying reviews of the new 514's with Performance Bracing.
