If that guitar was anything but a 700 series guitar, I would like it.  As a 700, I don't like it.  I am stuck on the 700s having the dark binding (rosewood or black plastic).  We can't tell yet, but if the 714-CE doesn't have a cedar top, it is definitely wrong.  What can I say, I am old-fashioned and the 700s are my favorite.  I guess I will be saying good-by to my old friends.  So long 700s  :'(.  At least I have my trusty '98 714-CE.  Together we will morn the loss of a gem in Taylor history.
I have enough, but can always make room for more.

Looks like they ditched the abalone rosette as well ........ To me it looks like a more traditional look they are going after here ... I am wondering if that is white binding or Ivoroid ? If it is Ivoroid I like that ..... Not sure if I am liking it as a rosette though ... I guess I will have to hold one to make a finale yay or ney .......

to me, it looks much closer to the original 700 series,
but with white binding & more intricate fretboard inlays -
at first, i thought it might have been a 400 series LTD ???

Very beautiful guitars and attractive bursts! Like Raven, I personally would miss having an abalone rosette though. On another note, as someone who likes to take photos of guitars, I'm wondering how they got that 12 string to stand up like that - I don't see any sign of a support.

I'm glad I just got my "soon to be old" 714.  I was never a fan of the white binding, in fact, the rosewood binding is one of the things that I thought really made the 700s stand out.  I like the abalone rosette better too.  I'd assume that, just like the current 700s, the burst will be an option.

Photoshop! Look at the shadows. They don't seem consistent from guitar to guitar.

On an unrelated note, it would seem that there is an aesthetic influence from the Steven Curtis Chapman Signature Model, which if I recall correctly was based on a 714.

The key factor to me would be the cedar top.  I think Taylor's cedar/rw combo (especially in GA body) is simply magic, so as long as they keep that going, there will always be a draw for me to the 700 series.  Being that I already have a stellar 714ce, it won't really matter.  But there is still a lot of unknowns here.

I'm in agreement with you byrd! I'd like some abalone at that price point. While I can appreciate that the white binding makes a nice contrast with the burst, I just can't seem to understand the lack of a nicer rosette. Unless they are going to drop the base price to a more reasonable price (due to lack of bling) I'm going to look right passed them.

It's a studio shot, monofiliment from the 12 string to a grip arm overhead, yes of course it's Photoshoped, all commercial images are finished in Photoshop or some other softwear, that's the way it's designed to work now with digital imaging, and it's not a sin and it isn't cheating, we rarely use film now but we manipulated that in processing and printing as well.
