At least you are able to have a guitar. When I traveled in my job, I always loved it when I could have some sort of instrument with me.

Agreed.  I knew I'd be away for at least a year, and didn't want to fall out of practice.

Hi Tim,
As you know I travel a lot. I have settled on a carbon fiber guitar for robustness and temperature/humidity indifference. My Rainsong Shorty weighs less than my mini and I don't worry(too much) about checking it in the soft case I bought for it. It plays close to my Taylors(shaved the saddle a bit) and although the sound is different it is still very nice. It also has 1 3/4 nut width with I think 25.5 inch scale length.  While I am not giving up my Taylors I don't miss them quite as much when I am gone. Just a thought.

Thanks, Dave!  That's definitely something to consider!

As there's still a chance my next job will have me on the road again (hmm, someone should set that to music...) my brother suggested a simple 100- or 200-Series Taylor (110/210 or 114/214).  They're relatively inexpensive without the ES or cutaway (although I do like to have a cutaway...) -- and a used one would be even less expensive...  I'll have to do some thinking...!

I've got it bad!

A few years ago I had only 1 guitar, an acoustic that I purchased in 1975.

Now I have 8, including electrics and ukuleles.

The first step to redemption is admitting that you have a problem.........

A few years ago, my goal was to have 7 GAs , one for each day of the week. Today, at 8 GAs,  I'm contemplating  my 9th and hoping to stop at 10. We'll see how that goes!

Well, I acquired the 9th, and I've decided that I now have too many. So I'm in the process of choosing two for sale in order to bring me back to the more manageable quantity of 7 ( one for each day of the week). I just have to hold on to the 7 I love the most!

2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood

No,  not me. One guitar per year  for the last for years. I don't see a problem with that. No GAS going on here.

My playing after almost 3 years is still rubbish but I haven't let lack of ability hold me back when it comes to GAS  :-[
I've got it bad. The up side is staff at my local music shop call me when deliveries are being unpacked, I think they have me on speed dial  ;D

Two weeks ago acquired a new 616ce and today came home with a 1980 Rickenbacker 620/12.
That's 21 guitars in 3 years  :(
My wife has her eye on a new 812ce-N.
Some kind of intervention is required, help!

Wow, I don't feel so bad all of a sudden. :)
Maybe we need to start a support group (these forums kinda have the opposite effect).  ::)

I feel your pain (see my signature)...  I wish I could find dates like I seem to be able to find guitars... :-\

The first step is always in acknowledging that one has a problem... And I hereby acknowledge that you have a problem... ;)
