Another Connecticut Taylor Fan
« on: July 29, 2015, 08:41:02 PM »
Greetings to all from the state that New Yorkers call "New England" and Bostonians consider "virtual New York!"  :) I hail from the lovely forested hills north of New Haven.

I'm a long time player, more electric than acoustic, but I have two Taylors. One is a Grand Auditorium 414ce which I've had for about 10 years and love just as much as the day I bought it. I play a mix of fingerpick, flat pick and strumming, and I find this guitar suits all pretty well. I do indeed love the crisp sound of this guitar, without being brittle or strident. Bright, but also warm and in tune chords have a beautiful solid sound. Perhaps the Ovangkol? Whatever it is, I love the sound and feel of this longtime friend.

My second Taylor is brand new, a T5z-12 String, that is absolutely magical and is changing the way I play. I wrote an in depth review on another topic string, but there's nothing unbiased about it. I LOVE THIS GUITAR!

Anyway, I'm happy to make your acquaintance.

Welcome.  You Connecticut folks suffer from the same identity crises we Jerseyites do -- for many we're the only way to get from New York City to another major city (Boston via Ct, Philly and Washington via NJ).  Of course we know better......and Hartford trumps Newark every time.
