I RESPECT banjo players.  Went to the "Banjo Summit" last year in Tarrytown NY starring the likes of Tony Trischka, Bela Fleck and Noah Pikelny, amongst others.  And had the pleasure of watching Pete Seeger with his legendary banjo a few years back.          BTW welcome to the UTGF.

Dan, please don't be upset. We have a lot of fun on this forum. Lots of kidding around. This is great group of people on this forum. Ok, enough with the banjo jokes. I guess I'm used to them, so they don't bother me. But, if we offended you, we're sorry.

I don't mind banjo jokes.  Even at home, I have to endure banjo disrespect.  My wife threatens to get a tattoo on her butt that says, "I hate banjos!"
When I ask who will see it, she just gives me a Mona Lisa smile.

No disrespect from me towards banjos or banjo players.  Just a little kidding.  Actually I have a bunch of jokes about drummers.  Here is one for you Dan

What is the difference between a drummer and a government bond?
One of them will eventually mature and earn a income.  haha ;D

That one was told to me by a drummer, and a darn good one.  A recording and traveling gigger.

He who loses money, loses much; he who loses a friend, loses more; he who loses faith, loses all.

Even guitar builders get their share of disrespect.

How many luthiers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Just one, but first he has to build a jig!

glad that you found us  ;D
I heard a rumor about some guy in the Twin Cities trying to grow a Taylor guitar tree from a GS mini neck that he planted in his backyard.... hmmm....
I get the first 526ce that comes out !!!!  :o
Good idea but I believe it's more like this : "well Taylor build great necks..." he said,
                                                                "I can build good guitars..."
And then he ended up with a PennTaDanMin guitar or something like that...(unless somebody unfortunately sat on the guitar & the suggested repair has not been made yet...).
Mind you, ukes from a Taylor tree end up as double bass after some years as 8 strings Baritones...Didn't you know ?
