Milk Carton Kids
« on: July 22, 2014, 04:24:00 PM »
Crawled out from under my rock and saw these guys on Austin City Limits over the weekend. Never heard of them. Man they are a great duo. Simon and Garfunkle sounding on vocals, and the Martin player must have watched every David Rawlings video out there. Neat that their 2 guitars are twice as old as they are. The guys are 30ish. The Gibson is a 1951 J-45 tuned a whole step down, and the Martin, a 1954 0 body.

Yes, didn't mean to highjack the post ribbing jersey, but I think they are awesome too. A refreshing burst of talent that seems to be in short supply these days.

My wife is a big fan; she thought I'd love them based on their similarities to Simon and Garfunkel.  She thinks their most recent album is a bit monochromatically dark and looks forward to a well rounded evening of fabulous music when we see them.
