NGD 2014 812e
« on: July 08, 2014, 11:27:30 PM »
I went through a Limited 814 Cocobolo and a GA BTO before I was finally satisfied with this 2014 812e. This guitar doesn't choke out like the other two guitars. It keeps getting louder the harder I strum. The bass is thick and articulate, not boomy. I think the shorter scale is more to my liking also. I feel the upgrades in the 800 series are noticeable and make for a nicer sounding and looking guitar. I really like the smokey ebony fingerboard. I know this is a deal breaker for some but I wish mine actually had more figuring. The rosewood pickguard feels real nice to the touch also. Something I didn't even consider until I played it. The ES2 is a lot louder but I haven't had enough time with it to tell if it sounds better or not.

Wow! That is DROP DEAD Gorgeous!! Killer Rosewood back, love the Pickguard, the Fingerboard streaking is tasteful and unique. What a great score!

I also think Talyor hit it out of the park with the refinements to the 2014 800 series. A crowning achievement that will no doubt trickle down to other series (if I were to hazard a guess)...  and I hope those refinements do! I'd love a 500 series with that bracing!
