Good evening folks from stormy NH.

Like the title says, have built two D-28 and one D-35 - and the learn to play bug finally bit.

Wanted to build one for myself but not until I can play

Attended a tough funeral yesterday for a dear friend and to end on an up note decided to spend some time checking out guitars where I've been taking lessons, Strings and Things in Concord

Had gone in with particular interest in some of the Martin models in OM/000 size. Well, I was not blown away with any of them. I played them with my -at this point- limited skill but also had the sales guy play some more complicated things

I kept coming back to the 322e that was in stock. Size, fit and finish are just sublime. I don't foresee the need for the pickup so ordered the plain 322 which will be received soon.

In doing my research one thing I was very impressed with was the quality and quantity of helpful information available from Taylor.

Apologies for the long winded post but am so over the moon to be learning ( and progressing) and to soon be a member of the Taylor family. Not bad for a 55 year old!

Wishing you all a great evening.

George

Hi George and welcome. I'll bet your 322 will be fantastic! I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. Why not make a promise to yourself to learn the guitar and to play something in his memory 5 years from now? :)

It's nice to have you here--please be sure to post a pic or two once you receive your 322. We love to see guitar photos! 8)

Hi George. Welcome to the UTGF. Sorry to hear about your friend. For me, playing guitar is great therapy. It's a wonderful way to honor those we love and miss dearly.

I'm glad you found us. Enjoy. :)

Thank you, Shayne

It has been a comforting presence

My interest is in Fingerstyle and I have been diligently working on the first 16 bars of "Dust in the Wind" - last evening for the first time, my playing sounded more like the song than stumbling notes.

It's good therapy in other ways I've found - my hands (with the beginning stages of arthritis) have never felt better.

Hey George,

Welcome to the fold. I am a new member here and new guitar player also. I don't have a Taylor just yet but I will soon. I just started playing around the first of the year and have been enjoying every minute that I get with my guitars. I just turned 49 and I can tell you that so far, playing has helped to loosen up my hands. I believe that it will help keep your mind sharp too by forcing you to consentrate when you play.

Great stuff!
