speaking of high prices, did you check out their on line store? Are prices that much higher in Japan?
2007 R Taylor Indian Rosewood, Swiss Alpine Spruce
2014 Taylor 456ce SLTD 12 string Ovangkol , sitka spruce
2012 Ibanez AS103 custom semi hollowbody

Guitars, you only get out of it what you put into it :)

i imagine they're more than full MSRP here (in the US)
Taylor's sole authorized distributor in Japan -
http://www.yamano-music.co.jp/a/shops/ginza/guitar/Taylor_guitars_fair

check out the $ on the BT1
http://stores.ebay.com/Pro-Shop-Bass-Guitar-Japan/_i.html?_nkw=taylor&submit=Search&_cqr=true&_rusck=1&_nkwusc=tasylor&_sid=1101033959

uh, it's "Bass Pro Shop" (kinda got it bass-ackwards, there ;) )

it could  just be the angle, but this doesn't look like a martin shape headstock to me

i'm thinking this guy is probably not an authorized dealer of any sort
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&ftab=FeedbackLeftForOthers&userid=akiy-jp&iid=-1&de=off&items=200&mPg=2&page=2
sold a fair amount of green tea to start out with, though

a negative left for a dirty shipping box from musician's friend -
i can see why some businesses are not particularly excited about exporting overseas ::)
speaking of high prices, did you check out their on line store?
i just did - they resell instruments purchased from authorized dealers
http://bass-japan.ocnk.net/

no manufacturer's warranty -  what a gyp >:(

oh ...

"※The photograph are sample."
the pics aren't even of the guitar that's being sold ...
perfect :-\
