Very, very nice. Congratulations, can you comment on the volume, I don't suspect it is as load as a dred but how would you compare to say a GA

Thanks and good luck

Bill
Thanks Bill!  As far as volume, it is not quite as loud as my 814ce, but almost.  The 814 seems a little brighter and the 512e 12 fret is definitely a much warmer sounding guitar.  All Taylors sound great to me though. ( I now have a little GAS fot the new 150e 12 string==does it ever end??!!)

One just can't go wrong with a Taylor cedar, IMHO; 12fret and small bodied is particularly nice.  And your mahog back is very sweet ...looks like one piece, can you confirm?  I love Taylor's 12F line and have yet to play one I didn't adore.  Congrats and enjoy that beauty! :D

I believe it is a one piece back.  The store where I ordered it said it would be a 2 piece, but sure looks like 1 to me as I detect no seam.

1-piece back is extra nice, IMHO.  In the LesPaul world, it's an additional little perk in aesthetics.  A beauty ...congrats!

I don't want to pre-empt the discussion but my hog back is one piece ...
i doubt that it is one piece, even with as small a body size as the GC -
the pics hoosierpicker posted here (very nice ... congrats on the 512 12 fret  8) )
is not a one piece, as the two halves are book matched

there doesn't appear to be a black centerstrip (pinstripe),  but looking at the detail
pic of the soundhole, the centerstrip is visible, which would not be necessary to use
on a one piece back because there would be no glue joint of the two back half pieces -
i've seen older kay & harmony guitars with one piece birch backs,
but there was absolutely no sign of book matching, which is a fairly
accurate tell-tale sign that a back (or top) is more than one piece
it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...

Very nice.  Looks like a lot of Hog Taylor's all of the sudden.  I love twelve fret guitars.
