I've been anxiously awaiting pics as well....but while we're waiting, let me say congrats on your new acquisition. Play it in good health! I think that a cedar/rosewood may be in my future as well, since I've always been drawn to that combo. Love my '97 cedar/walnut, but wouldn't mind a complimentary cedar/rosewood as well....

Thank you everybody. The pics have arrived. Appreciate your patience. This week is pick your college student up week for me. It's been nuts. Sorry to keep you waiting.

Been hoping to find a R Taylor Style 2 for a while. Was hoping for Cedar/Walnut but this one (Cedar/EIR) popped up at a price I couldn't pass up. You just don't find them everyday at more than XX% off MSRP. I am the third owner of the guitar (2 previous AGF owners) but to look at it you would think it was brand new.

For those who have played an R Taylor, you know the tone is similar to a regular Taylor only refined. The short scale on this one along with the Cedar/Rosewood bring a very nice bottom. Mids are a little scooped but the highs are wonderfully round and fat. Harmonics ring out and the sustain is awesome. A fantastic fingerstyle guitar!

I am no R.Taylor aficionado so I need to ask.  What is the body dimensions of the Style 2.

The Style 2 is a GC. The Style 1 is the GS. Actually, I think the Style 1 came out first and became the GS size.

I love that rosette against the cedar. Overall a very "tailored" look.

Appreciate all the nice comments. This R Taylor is rather simple and understated in it's appearance. Where it makes the real money is in the sound.

I've heard and played many Taylor guitars now but this one has something extra. And that is saying a lot because my other Taylors are nothing short of awesome!

If I may... Yes, I wholeheartedly concur!  RTs do, without question, sport the highest-grade example of whatever wood species you pick.  But overall, the "adornment" is subdued ...nothing blingy or draws attention to itself.  It really is about design philosophy where "the money" is in the attention to how the build yields tone.  One "sees" an RT and finds simplicity and understated elegance; one plays an RT and hears a complex world of tone :D

Yeah, at risk of sounding "fanboy" here, I gotta likewise agree.  I am enormously gratified at the Taylors I have owned past and at present, but the RTs are IMHO, no hyperbole, a different class of guitar.  Those who have "boutique" builds --i.e. small-production-number hand builds-- know how that difference translates in "more guitar."  This takes nothing away from Taylor's excellent production-line guitars.  But therein lies the difference: RTs are built individually, each with an uncompromising attention to detail that one can hear.

BTW, the style 2 is my fave RT body.  Enjoy that stellar tone machine :D

I will but I want to wait until my Kolaya is returned. Currently with the luthier for repair.
