I've been hankering for a Style 2 for a while. My first choice would have been Cedar/Walnut but that never materialized (and I waited about a year). This one popped up and I had to get it. My first R Taylor experience.

It arrived last Friday and I haven't gotten around to pics (I know, I know ... vapor guitar and all). Just wanted to say ... wow! You folks who have talked up the R Taylor's are spot on. This is one of the straight forward Style 2s, and by that I mean std woods, std appointments but there is really nothing standard about it. Just love the way this guitar sounds! :)

Obviously, more to come!

Huge congrats on the RT!

Folks who don't really know what these are consistently dismiss them as "gussied up" Taylors ...soooo far from the truth.  You've discovered first hand how the RT's fundamental differences in build and attention to every detail translate into an instrument that is genuinely special.  And yes, I am very biased as I love mine.  The RT2, particularly, is a shape those folks really hit a homerun with.  I'm glad you're enjoying it!  Now go take a break from playing and snap us up a few drool-worthy pics :D

Dennis,

Congrats on your R. Taylor!  I have always dreamed of the combination that you have, maybe one day I will be able to find one.  I hope you have years  of enjoyment with it.

Congratulations Dennis.  I always hear great things about the R. Taylors.

I know you have been looking for the cedar/walnut for quite some time. But, it sounds like this worked out great for you. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. Until then, I don't believe that this ever happened  ::).

Are you smoking one of those "vapor" cigars while playing your R2 vapor guitar?

You and Guitarsoawesome got me thinking about the warm sound of cedar which inspired a road trip to my local George's Guitar store.  I plan to post what happened tomorrow. Right now my fingers are too sore to type  ;)
