Koa Calling
« on: May 07, 2014, 11:00:59 PM »
I just love this guitar.  Some day I would love to own a all Koa Taylor K24 like the one Tony is playing in this video.  Beautiful wood, gorgeous fingerboard inlay, beautiful sound, and it will only get better for the lucky new owner.

But of course I just got the last guitar I will ever need, right.

Absolutely, Positively LOVE my K24ce.  Just played "out" with it last night. I tend to hope that the beauty of the guitar hypnotizes the crowed enough that they don't notice the singer messing up a few song lyrics from time to time!   :o

One of the features I like is the Island Vine finger board.  I don't think it is over the top bling, it is just pretty.  The only real problem is that I don't think I could justify the price since I don't earn money from playing, or play out at all.  Hmm… Maybe I should call our church music director and see what I do for him.

I too like the inlay.  I do not care for all the bling myself.

Now, as far as justifying another lemme see if I can help......my philosophy is that as long as your not going into debt or not paying essential bills then go for it. You could always sell one in your stable.....

I love my K66 WW CV braced T purchased from Wildwood Guitars. I decided on the GS body to help balance out the "jangly" 12 string tonality. This guitar is amazing in all aspects, looks, tone, feel, playability and sheer WOW factor. Nobody says on their death bed that they wished they had been more frugal in life! Don't go into financial ruin......BUT get that guitar if it makes your soul sing! Working on a Custom Koa GS now...........have feed the TAS monster! ;)

This K66ce came up on eBay around the beginning of the week.  Made me wish I didn't already have a K66ce so I could justify buying it.  Even so, I seriously considered it, even knowing the guitar was considered used and not covered by a Taylor warranty.  The internal debate didn't last long, though; someone ostensibly snatched it up within a few days...

Guess I'll just have to play my K66ce twice as often now...  ;)

moi ???

i thought Geez had it pretty well covered with the K24ce, but i figured
the more the merrier, hence the bigger body shapes & a few more strings ;)
it's not about what you play,
it's all about why you play ...

I've had my K65ce since 2006, and it still makes me smile uncontrollably every time I play it.  I believe it to be the holy grail of 12 strings.  To that point, it is well protected by killer attack rabbits hidden in shrubbery and arrogant French soldiers on top of the castle walls.
