NGD: Time for a Mini
« on: March 29, 2014, 06:52:05 PM »
So back in 2011, I had joint replacement surgery on my right foot, which had me off my feet (right foot elevated on ice and not playing guitar) for longer than I would have liked....fast forward to today, I'm scheduled for the same surgery on my left foot this coming Tuesday. My sweetheart of a wife took me to my FLGS today to get a new GS Mini - there were three, but I picked the one below:

http://www.martinmusicguitar.com/taylor-gs-mini-limited-edition-solid-spruce-rosewood-laminate-3372.html

At least I'll be able to play this time while recuperating in a recliner for a couple of weeks. She's a real beauty (sounds fantastic too!), and I've already swapped out the bridge pins for dyed bone and the tuner buttons for Minnie Pearls - I mean, mini pearloids!
My Taylor Grand Auditoriums:

1997 Cujo14 - old growth cedar/black walnut
2014 K24e - master grade koa
2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany
2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood

I have the same guitar SF.  I think you will get on with it well.  Playing on the couch is no problem for me.

Yeah, what he said.  Except for the lobotomy, of course... I think I can still have kids.   :o

Congrats on the new Mini, and hope you heal fast.  At least playing that lovely little guitar will help the time pass faster!

Good luck with your surgery. I've been very impressed with the rosewood limited edition GSM's I've played in stores--yours looks particularly gorgeous.

Thanks for everyone's prayers/wishes on my recovery along with your support of my G.A.S. illness! I know that you've heard it all before, but these Minis are amazing! My wife says that its sound reminds her of a D-45 I used to own, only louder! In any case, the guitar is a joy to play (what fun!), and she sounds so sweet. Glad to have joined the ranks of the GS Mini Club!
