Feeling broke in the fall, I finagled from various gift givers enough dough to scratch out an Alvarez ABT60 baritone, which I really enjoy.  But this new 300 series Taylor Baritone sounds amazing on the clip--sorry I didn't wait.  I look forward to seeing it this May at a local road show.

I've had a chance to play two Taylor baris in my life: a 6 and the 8string.  I liked them well enough, but not enough to "justify" ownership.  This mahog in dred bod sounds different ...in a great way (at least to my memory).  The mids here seem defined and substantial, not buried as I felt they were in the other two baris I had tried.  I hope I get to try one at a local store ...this may very well change the way I feel about Taylors baritone.

Wowser! That bari sounds sweet! The low end is like a dark chocolate! The GAS is building at an incredible rate!

I liked them well enough, but not enough to "justify" ownership.

I concur - very nice guitars, but not at that retail price point for a niche instrument.  I never cared much for the 8 string, and it took a long time to actually find a 6 string in stock somewhere to try.  I was still underwhelmed.  I snapped up a less expensive 416LTD baritone a year ago when they were available.  Love the tone.....  (I should sell it though, as some progressive hand weakness prevents me from playing it very much.  The 27" scale no longer agrees with my left hand, even with lighter strings).

A 100 series baritone and that price point might do well for them.
Taylors:  424-LTD (all koa) and a 114ce that lives with friends in Alaska.  Low maintenance carbon fiber guitars are my "thing" these days, but I will always keep the koa 424.  Several ukulele and bass guitars too.
*Gone but not forgotten:  a 2001 414ce, 410, 354-LTD twelve string, 314-N, 416-LTD baritone, T5 Classic, 615ce, 2006 GS-K, 1996 (first year) Baby

Wow,MB, great top. Enjoy your baritone.  It's fun to play familiar songs with new chord shapes on the baritone.

Good for you MB. Played one at my FLGS and it was incredible sounding, but kind of frumpy looking. Yours has some really nice top grain patterns.
